High Jewelry show – Messika Paris

HIGH JEWELRY SHOW

Messika celebrates 20 years of creativity with a High Jewelry show unveiling the “Terres d’Instinct” collection.

To mark this milestone, Valérie Messika drew her inspiration from a journey to Namibia. From this raw and majestic land emerged a collection shaped by sharp incisions, stylized zebra stripes, and organic motifs — a free-flowing script between primal landscapes and untamed strength.

To celebrate its 20th anniversary, Messika unveiled its new High Jewelry collection, “Terres d’Instinct”, during a show held at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs as part of Paris Fashion Week. Infused with the energy of Southern Africa, the collection reflects instinct and freedom, hallmarks of Messika’s contemporary vision of High Jewelry.

The Musée des Arts Décoratifs, located within the Palais du Louvre and dedicated to applied arts and creation, offered a symbolic setting for this milestone celebration. The show featured contributions from designers Feben and Vicnate, reflecting the rich creativity of today’s African fashion scene.

Messika unveils its “Terres d’Instinct” High Jewelry collection

For its twentieth anniversary, Messika ventures further into the wild with Terres d’Instinct, its latest High Jewelry collection unfolding across 23 sets. Inspired by the vast landscapes of Namibia, this collection channels the power of nature’s extremes, scorched yet lush, silent yet resonant, fierce yet resplendent. Contrast transcends opposition, becoming creation itself, shaping jewels that echo the majesty of Southern Africa.

The power of color

This twentieth anniversary marks not only a turn toward colored gemstones, but also a bold expansion of Messika’s aesthetic vocabulary. Color emerges as a language of its own, instinctive, vivid, and deeply bound to the land. Drawn from the primal splendor of Namibia, these hues echo skies, deserts, and flora, translating the elements into rhythm and brilliance. Blue sapphires mirror the heavens, tsavorites rise like sudden vegetation, red and pink spinels flare like the last embers of the sun, onyx and diamonds trace the zebra’s stripes, while Sannan Skarn shades the foliage of its concealment. Each jewel responds to another in perfect dialogue, extending Messika’s vision through a play of color and form, pushing High Jewelry into new, untamed territory.

Color also finds new expression through technique. Lacquer appears in two exclusive shades, brown and black, deepening contrasts with rare intensity. Titanium, anodized in violet, blue, and green for So Move Max, brings new luminescence to the collection. In a bold crescendo, So Move Rainbow assembles twenty-four shades of sapphires and rubies with diamonds underscoring the motifs and links, gemstone pairing elevated into a spectrum of pure radiance.

“Instinct guided me here. Namibia showed me that beauty is born of contrast, brilliance against color, power against softness. This chapter dares with new shades, but always keeps Messika’s light at its core.” Valérie Messika, Founder and Creative Director
