A collection committed to the most disadvantaged

After two years spent supporting young Lebanese women, who have been most affected by the collapse of their national economy, in 2024 MESSIKA CARE(s) is working with the NGO Plan International to help train young people in India and help them gain access to employment. In the country where diamonds were born and diamond expertise dates back countless generations, over half of the population is aged below 25, and only 5% have access to professional education.

Messika took action for the libanese population

After providing aid for the Lebanese population in 2022 and 2023, having distributed over 4000 hygiene kits to young women, in 2024 the Fondation Valérie Messika has decided to support the NGO Plan International France. Plan International France is part of Plan International, an international humanitarian NGO which works to create a fairer world, promoting children's rights and gender equality.
Economic liberation in India is still an opportunity that few young women have access to in the face of gender discrimination, a lack of suitable education or job opportunities and pay inequality between men and women. Today, only 29% of young Indian women are able to contribute to the national economy. Since 2010, Plan International has led the ‘Saksham’ programme in Delhi to provide young women there with equal access to employment. It all starts with awareness campaigns to mobilise young women and encourage local businesses to change their habits. It's also about ensuring that the training provided lines up with business expectations in order to maximise the chances of educated young women entering employment. The ‘Saksham’ programme therefore endeavours to identify opportunities in the job market and to develop the appropriate training. In the country where diamonds were born, and where diamond and jewelry expertise dates back countless generations, the Fondation Valérie Messika has chosen to support Plan International France in its mission which has already provided education for 12,000 young women, 70% of which have entered the job market.

The Valérie Messika Foundation

Women’s place in society and their independence have always been her focus and the driving force behind her creativity.
“As an entrepreneur and mother, I know how difficult it is to ever completely find your place. Traditional social factors still prevail and unfortunately numerous prejudices remain. By launching this foundation a year ago, I wanted to become more involved and take more concrete action. By supporting the most disadvantaged women on the ground and making the education of young girls a key factor in their emancipation, we are helping to build a fairer society in which girls and boys can imagine their future with greater peace of mind, and without limits.” Valérie Messika

A piece of jewelry that is special in more ways than one.

For each piece of jewelry purchased from the collection, Messika gives €100 to the Fondation Valérie Messika to help support charities and NGOs working to improve education and health for children. By choosing a MESSIKA CARE(s) piece of jewelry in 2024, you are supporting the NGO Plan International France and its ‘Saksham’ programme, which has been giving young Indian women improved access to education and socio-economic integration for 14 years. Support, mentoring, training and courses are all powerful tools for integration and for promoting an inclusive environment which encourages the participation of young Indian women in the economy.
